The speaker of parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among is not about to stay in power when it comes to her seat in parliament and leading other members. She said that she is always looking forward to letting her deputy Hon Thomas Tayebwa to take on the power other than her staying for a very long time.
In Africa, a few leaders lead and leave. Most of them stay in power even when they promised that they will not cling on power. At the moment Hon Anita Among is facing a lot of criticism from Ugandans as she is being accused of corruption and embezzlement of government funds meant to do other things.
Last week different Ugandans stormed the streets protesting asking her to leave her seat because of corruption. Fortunately she is being supported by President Museveni and there is no way she will move out of office.
While attending the Thanksgiving of Hon Thomas Tayebwa, Hon Anita Among said that her deputy is a good leader. She thanked the people that voted for him to become the member of parliament. She said he is the right fit to become the member of parliament to become the speaker after she moved out of office.
